City of Newcastle - Development Application ​DA2020/00641

The Development Application for the Newcastle City Local Government Area (LGA) portion of Richmond Vale Rail Trail (RVRT) was on public exhibition (RVRT travels through 3 different LGA's). Members of the community were invited to view and make comment on the development application "DA2020/00641".

To access the development application documents (all 18) you need to enter "DA2020/00641" into the Application ID field of the Council's development application tracker.

Alternatively, a copy of all the development application documents can be found below on the Richmond Vale Rail Trail website.

​The purpose of the referral process is to determine whether or not a proposed action will need formal assessment and approval under the EPBC Act. 
EPBC Referrals: Invitation to comment

​Newcastle, NSW: Proposal for Richmond Vale Rail Trail, a 32km long cycling and walking track. The proposal is likely to impact the Hunter Estuary Wetlands Ramsar Site; the Lowland Rainforest of Subtropical Australia; the Coastal Swamp Oak (Casuarina glauca) Forest of New South Wales and South East Queensland;  Eastern Curlew (Numenius madagascariensis); Curlew Sandpiper (Calidris ferruginea); Red Knot (Calidris canutus); Australasian Bittern (Botaurus poiciloptilus); Large-eared Pied Bat (Chalinolobus dwyeri); Green and Golden Bell Frog (Litoria aurea); Bar-tailed Godwit (Limosa lapponica); Latham’s Snipe (Gallinago hardwickii); Marsh Sandpiper (Tringa stagnatilis); Sharptailed Sandpiper (Calidris acuminata); Common Greenshank (Tringa nebularia); and Glossy Ibis (Plegadis falcinellus). Comments close on 3 February 2020.
