To further illustrate the diversity of terrains associated with the proposed Richmond Vale Rail Trail (RVRT), we have extracted a series of Wetlands images primarily from two of Bill Landenberger’s recent drone-based spherical panoramas (taken on 10/11/2025) – which, for convenience, we have collectively categorised as Block E (Wetlands Vistas).

These images sit in stark contrast to the Sugarloaf range and Forest/woodlands extracted images that we have showcased in Posts during the past month (Blocks A & B: Kurri Kurri to Shortland; Block C: Tunnel #1, Dam and Creek; and Block D: Around Tunnel #2).

The current images are grouped into two subsets based on the location at which the panorama was shot: Minmi Junction – PicM01 to PicM07 (Main drone elevation: approx. 100 metres); and Rocky Knob – PicR01 to PicR09 (Main drone elevation: approx. 120 metres), a site of cultural significance for the Pambalong Clan of the Awabakal, which is located approx. 250 metres to the north of Kau Ma Park in Fletcher. Once again, full versions of Bill’s spherical panoramas can be viewed on his 360 cities account (https://www.360cities.net/profile/landy42).

Alternatively, or additionally, you can watch a short YouTube video (4 Min. 30 Sec.) which combines the same images with some extracted pseudo-videos (screenshots) and other Wetlands photographs: https://youtu.be/8R77-c8U4JI.

Please see our detailed Post from October 2nd 2025 (“Activating the Minmi to Fletcher RVRT Segment”) for general orientation and approvals information and a series of ground-based images (Link: https://www.facebook.com/richmondrailtrail/posts/pfbid02njPpzpJXtyv3mSASmx5WeLtbJd1CqUkS2xGtsYNgZWeXSB5j85q4d4wmDWrsfCefl).

PicM01 to PicM04 are taken from directly above Minmi Junction and are essentially a counter-clockwise set showcasing views along the proposed RVRT towards Stockrington, Minmi, Fletcher and Hexham Junction, respectively. PicM05 to PicM07 provide additional close-up and Little Planet views from that location.

PicR01 (taken from above Rocky Knob) illustrates where the proposed Minmi Junction to Fletcher RVRT connection sits with respect to the overall Fletcher community. PicR02 to PicR05 provide a counter-clockwise set showcasing extracted (partial Little Planet) views from above Rocky Knob, starting with Kau Ma Park on the right-hand side and ending with it on the left-hand side.

PicR06 & PicR07 provide close-up views respectively of Kau Ma Park and Rocky Knob; PicR08 provides a full Little Planet view of the Wetlands with Rocky Knob at the centre; while PicR09 illustrates the distance between Minmi & Hexham Junctions.

Panoramic aerial photograph of wetlands and green fields near Minmi Junction and Rocky Knob, with forested areas and a partly cloudy sky. Overlaid text reads: “Wetlands Vistas from above – Minmi Junction & Rocky Knob (Fletcher) – Richmond Vale Rail Trail (RVRT) Supporters’ Group – Nov. 2025.”
